Founder: Nissan Zaruvabeli

House of Subs was founded in 2017 by Nissan Zaruvabeli, whose passion for food and serving the community inspired him to create something special. Although he previously worked in the jewelry industry, his dream was always to build a business that would bring people together through great food while giving back to the community.

When the location that now houses House of Subs became available, it had previously been a non-kosher sandwich shop where many local students would stop for lunch. With the support of his family, Nissan saw an opportunity to provide the community with a delicious kosher alternative. What began as a small neighborhood sub shop quickly became a local favorite, known for fresh ingredients, quality food, and warm hospitality.

As the business grew, so did the vision. House of Subs expanded beyond sandwiches with the launch of Flame Caterers, a full-service kosher catering company that now serves everything from intimate gatherings to events of over 600 guests.

Giving back has always been at the heart of what we do. We are proud to regularly donate fresh food to stock Bikur Cholim rooms at our local hospitals, ensuring that family members spending long hours caring for loved ones have a meal available whenever they need one. Supporting our community has always been just as important to us as serving great food.

Today, House of Subs remains committed to the same values it was founded on: exceptional food, outstanding service, and giving back to the community that has supported us from the very beginning. While our journey started as a small sub shop, our vision continues to grow—and we’re just getting started.
